About Canine Centric & Lea
Canine Centric was founded in 2013 with a simple yet powerful mission: to help dogs and their owners better understand one another. A well-trained dog isn’t just easier to live with—it can help prevent behavioral issues, improve safety, and enhance a dog’s overall quality of life. With nearly two decades of hands-on experience working with dogs, I bring both professional knowledge and real-world training experience to every session.

Over the years, I have developed a training approach that focuses on clarity, communication, and building strong relationships between dogs and their owners. Training should be engaging, effective, and enjoyable for both dogs and their people. At Canine Centric, we work with dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds to help them and their owners develop practical real-world skills and a stronger bond.

Lea has always had a natural connection with dogs. She began working professionally with dogs in 2006 as a dog handler and started observing and assisting with training classes in 2009. In 2013, she earned a certificate in Training and Behavior from the Dog Training Internship Academy created by Janis Bradley, a six-month program focused on canine behavior, training principles, and professional client consultation.

Lea is an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator and a UKC SPOT evaluator, and she teaches classes through Sirius Puppy & Dog Training, founded by Ian Dunbar. Her passion for training is evident in her work with both clients and their dogs. She enjoys teaching people how to “speak dog” and helping them build stronger, more rewarding relationships with their canine companions.

In addition to working with clients, As an active dog sports competitor, she regularly trains and works with her own dogs at a high level, giving her practical insight into developing reliability, focus, and strong working partnerships. She is committed to ongoing education through seminars, workshops, and practical experience.

Lea shares her life with her husband and her canine companion, Gambit the Belgian Malinois.
