About Canine Centric:
Canine Centric helps cultivate healthy relationships between people and the dogs they share their lives with. Dogs are a big part of our family and we care about them and their well being just as much as you. We are here to help the new puppy owner get setup on the right training path and also to help adult dog owners when issues arise. Canine Centric practices positive reinforcement dog training and force free handling methods. We will never put your dog (or you) in a situation that could set them up to fail. Instead we take time to create a plan that will set you and your dog up for success. We also offer other types of services such as group dog walking and drop-in house visits.
About the Owner/Head Trainer:
Lea Orloski has always had love and a natural talent with dogs growing up. She began working with dogs in 2006 as a dog handler and began observing and assisting with training dogs & classes in 2009. In 2013 she attained a certificate in training and behavior from the Dog Training Internship Academy created by Janis Bradley. A 6-month course that focused on positive reinforcement dog training, dog behavior and professional client consultation. She also has her CPDT-KA Certification from the The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
Lea is also AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator, a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), a member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) and teaches class through Sirius Puppy & Dog Training founded by Ian Dunbar. Lea's passion for dog training can be seen through her work. She loves teaching students “how to speak dog” and how to better connect with their canine companions. When not hiking with dogs, doing training sessions with clients or her personal dogs, she is continuing her dog education through continuous hands on experience, seminars, conferences, webinars and books. Lea shares her life with an awesome husband and her furry companions, Chevy Iroc-Z the Doberman and Gambit the Belgian Malinois.
"Lea is a fantastic trainer. My girlfriend and I finished taking her "Basic Manners" class that she offers at Pet Food Express in Berkeley. To be honest I was a little nervous about dog training inside if a store - but it provided a great and balanced environment that Lea used to our advantage during training. Right upon meeting Lea, my dog Cecil just...knew what she was and began to obey her which really put me at ease. Lea streamlined the little training I did with Cecil before the class, and answered every question I could think up. She's passionate about her work and it shows in her training. If you've ever been on the fence about getting your dog some training - call Lea." - Josh T
